HMI’s 2014 Philanthropic Endeavors
Hammersmith Management partnered with Brother’s Redevelopment
and participated in their 36th Annual Paint-A-Thon.  In October of 2014, 18 Hammersmith employees
used their HammerTime Day of Service to partner with Brothers Redevelopment, a local non-profit that provides a variety of
housing-related services for the region’s low-income, elderly and disabled
residents. The team of 18 worked to paint and repair the home of a military
veteran and his wife.

After
The day of service was productive, important, and also
turned out to be a great team building day of fun. Here’s the feedback from a
few of the participants:
“I liked being able to hang out with everyone in a new
environment. Also, the look on their face when it was finished was
incredible.  I got to talk to neighbor
and hear that this is the best their house has ever looked. This not only made
a difference to Robert & Joyce, but to the neighbors as well.”
– Ryan Vieth
“Little things make a huge difference. I painted the
chimney and they couldn’t stop talking about how amazing it looked.”

– Christina Hammett

“It feels good to give back. Seeing how emotional they
got afterwards was powerful.”
– Jeanette Murcio
“It’s amazing to
see a business to give up time during the week for it’s employees to volunteer
with us. Everyone was very goal oriented and worked hard to the
end.”

  – Lindsay from Brother’s Redevelopment

“I am so emotional that I don’t know what to say. I am extremely
grateful for everyone at Hammersmith. We have needed to paint our home
for over 10 years, but we have not been able to. It’s great to find
people that were willing to help us to do it.”

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk
During the Breast Cancer Awareness Month of October, Hammersmith Management Team Members completed the annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5k walk.
Those who were unable to attend the event participated by making donations.
“I was proud to see so much support for this great cause and I enjoyed
walking with fellow HMI team members,” said Ann Williams, President.
“Partnering with the American Cancer Society is a great fit with
Hammersmith and our core values.” Evelyn Saavedra, Director of Community
Associations, partnered with team members from 3 other HMI offices to organize
the HMI Unity Team. She said, ”Many HMI team members brought their families,
and it was great to see family members bond with the HMI family. Donations are
extremely important to cancer research and finding a cure”.
In addition, during 2014, Hammersmith Management provided support to the
following organizations:
The Denver Scholarship Foundation – The Hammersmith Golf Classic is our signature philanthropic
event of the year. The 11th annual event delivered record results, donating
over $18,000 to the Denver Scholarship Fund.

Adopt a Family for the HolidaysHMI Team Members contributed to
provide a family of six with gifts of toys, clothing, and holiday treats.

Coats for ColoradoHMI Team Members partnered with Dependable Cleaners to collect and donate coats, hats, gloves,
scarves, and other warm items to help keep the homeless warm during the winter
season.
– Denver Rescue Mission – HMI Team Members volunteered at the Denver Rescue Mission, helping prepare and serve meals to the homeless.
