On Friday, June 12, Hammersmith Management’s signature philanthropic event of the year, the 12th Annual Hammersmith Golf Classic, delivered record results once again. Through vendor partnership and support, and as part of Hammersmith’s CommUNITY Care commitment, the 2015 tournament raised $12,000 for Denver Scholarship Foundation, this year’s beneficiary.
Denver Scholarship Foundation inspires and empowers Denver Public Schools’ students to enroll in and graduate from postsecondary institutions of higher education by providing the tools, knowledge, and financial resources essential for success. The Foundation’s goals emulate Hammersmith’s philanthropic endeavors and commitment to supporting education initiatives.
“I’m so proud of this event’s growth over the years,” said John Hammersmith, CEO. “Our company values education and training. It is a key component of team members’ success at Hammersmith. Working with Denver Scholarship Foundation, whose mission is higher education, is a wonderful partnership with Hammersmith and in alignment with our core values.”
The day included fun on the course as Board members had the opportunity to participate in games, win prizes, and visit with vendors and peers. Following the tournament, golfers enjoyed lunch, an awards ceremony, and the chance to bid on items in a silent auction containing sports memorabilia, trips, and gift cards to restaurants, with the money raised donated to Denver Scholarship Foundation.
